Amy is watching the television and doesn't notice that Maggy has come into the room, so she doesn't realise that Maggy is reading a letter that she has written to her parents. Maggy can't believe the lies the girl is intending to send back home. It's while the two girls are having a discussion about the letter - that Alex comes into the room. It doesn't take him long to understand what is going on.

He decides that Amy must be punished immediately. Fetching the cane, he tells the poor girl that she will have to write another letter - telling the truth this time, meanwhile, he will keep on caning her until the letter is finished to his satisfaction.
